If you have ever had to address an angry, emotional or overly persistent parent at an athletic event or practice, this workshop is for you! Participants will learn about the legal parameters of acceptable parent and spectator conduct, legal requirements for responding to threatening and/or discriminatory remarks, strategies for defusing potentially volatile encounters and responding to difficult parents, and best practices for building trusting and constructive relationships with parents. Participants will also learn when parents or other spectators may have engaged in acts of HIB, and the steps to be followed.
