This workshop extends participants; understanding of Cultural Responsive Practices by focusing on the power of communication (in both virtual and face-to-face environments) to disrupt biases in traditional and online learning environments. By integrating the principles of CRP with those of Compassionate Communication, this session will strengthen the skills of participants to: 1) identify violence in daily interactions; 2) avoid biased communications that stem from a deficit mentality; 3) use Compassionate Communication styles to build relationships; repair harm.
