This workshop will address the parameters of student confidentiality, focusing on complex issues such as HIB, drug and alcohol use, teen pregnancy, health information, family history, sexual orientation, child abuse, etc. It will also address records retention and parent/guardian rights regarding access to student records, including situations involving divorced parents and adult students. Finally, this workshop will review New Jersey public records law, including the right for public access to employee emails and the parameters for confidentiality of employee to employee communications.
