In an age of significant social unrest and a global pandemic, it is critical to fully understand the legal rights of staff. In this workshop, participants will learn about new legislation at the state & federal level intended to address COVID-19 and impacting employee rights, incl. issues related to reasonable accommodations for personnel considered at-risk, expanded rights to approved leave, and potential issues related to worker’s comp. In addition, participants will learn about the rights of staff to express their views on issues of social justice and 1st Amendment rights, evolving stds for engaging in progressive supervision and key principles for addressing employee misconduct during this challenging period.
