People have depicted the Sun in artworks to show its power and beauty. We can also use scientific instruments to study the Sun and learn about its features. After learning about the Sun, students can make models or artworks that demonstrate their own understanding of the Sun and its importance in their lives. (Suggested for PK - 6th grade visual arts and science connections)

Student athletes often face enormous pressures to succeed, both athletically and academically, in addition to learning to cope with the emotional rollercoaster that inevitably comes with athletic competition. For many student athletes, the coach is the school employee who knows that student better than any other staff member, and may be the first to recognize subtle changes in the student's demeanor or behavior. In this workshop, participants will learn about the legal requirements relevant to addressing student mental health issues, the critical role of the coach and athletic director, and best practices to support student athletes.
