Advancing educational equity requires an introspective commitment from educators to understand how implicit bias manifests in educational settings. A deeper understanding of bias can lead to increased awareness of how our everyday actions impact the students we serve. This workshop begins with a deep dive into implicit bias and its impact on the school community. Participants will learn how to identify their implicit biases and how implicit bias can hinder educational equity if left unchecked. Participants will be given strategies and resources for redressing implicit biases to promote racial awareness and educational equity.
