Planning effective instruction has always been a challenge. This workshop focuses on this essential part of teachers' work by engaging participants in the collaborative process of using a Student-friendly Learning Objective (SLO) to create a lesson design. Participants will work in small teams to examine and strengthen their understanding of the major categories that make up a lesson design. By doing so, teachers, instructional coaches, supervisors, and building administrators will grow in the awareness of the value of horizontal alignment which links instructional planning directly to the NJSLS and corresponding SLOs. Participants will also gain access to resources created to support the design process.
