With the voters' passage of a constitutional amendment in November, and after months of negotiations, the Legislature passed and Governor Murphy signed into law a series of bills that legalize marijuana use by those over age 21 and significantly reduce or eliminate penalties associated w/ possession & use. Marijuana use remains illegal for those under 21 (except for medical marijuana), and schools may still require that school employees not come to work while impaired. However, the revised laws are expected to have a significant potential impact on students & staff members.
